Jetpack for self-hosted WordPress
WordPress has released Jetpack and it might be worth your time to check it out.
Here is the deal in a nutshell. Jetpack allows people using WordPress.org and self-hosted sites to acquire some of the functionality and gadgets which were previously only available to people using WordPress.com sites.
Jetpack is installed just like any other plugin to WordPress and I have it on this site. I have not had much time to play with it so I can’t comment regarding any specific functions.
